On Wednesday, the children on the infant side of school were set a very tricky building challenge. After learning all about some of the famous landmarks around the world the week before, we thought we would put the children’s creative minds and team work skills to the test.

After a brief introduction, Miss Tarrant revealed to the children the team they were in and what landmark they were building. Each group left the snug full of ideas and excitement to find the perfect box to start their design. Some groups even had the chance to use the construction toys to help them build their landmark.

After only a short time, boxes had been cut, Lego walls built and an unlimited supply of masking tape had been used. All of the infant staff members are very grateful to have had a few extra pairs of eyes, ears and hands during the afternoon. Thank you once again to our parent helpers, you really did help the children to get the most out of the afternoon.

Once the time was up, each team presented their models to the rest of the children. It was great to hear their ideas and explanations about what they had used and why.  Mrs Ballard was so impressed with our models that she also invited the children to show them in our Bench of Glory assembly. Below you will find some of the photographs from the afternoon. See if you can name some of the landmarks that we built.
