On Friday year five and six went on an exciting learning adventure to Holme Pierrepont where they explored the Safety Zone.  They rotated around a wide range of exciting activities where they were taught important safety information and life skills.  They learnt how to assess a medical emergency and perform CPR as well as how to put someone into the recovery position.  The police were on hand to share statistics and facts about young people and knife crime and the PDSA taught us how to stay safe when approaching dogs.  Fire and electrical safety was covered through separate activities: one in a hazardous home and another through a workshop with Western Power Distribution.  The children learnt about road and travel safety on a variety of transport and enjoyed an informative session with the RNLI on water safety.  The children learnt so many important, lifesaving skills and had a great time.
