We have been learning about how vain the Roman emperors were. Not unlike the current generation of world leaders, they seemed obsessed by their own image, and managed to secure their fame and notoriety by having their forms forever captured in the finest carved marble. The children were very excited when I told them that we were going to carve statues of ourselves posing as Roman emperors. Unfortunately, the school budget cannot stretch to twenty-six two meter blocks of marble, so Class Four have been using clay for their sculptures.
