A couple of weeks ago a team of year 5 and 6 children ventured down to Platt Lane to take part in a cricket tournament with other local schools, an event that has been happening for a number of years that is always thoroughly enjoyed. We arrived feeling hopefully of a fun day out of a school…never expecting to return as undefeated champions, winning the top prize of the shield!
The team played marvelously and had clearly picked up on a lot from their few weeks of coaching as well as listening to some of the experts in the group, who play for the Keyworth cricket club outside of school. It was the whole team who were responsible for our success as they worked together and supported each other superbly throughout every game. Everyone at Willow Brook was so proud of their achievements and the shield is now taking pride of place on the trophy stand. Well done to all of you!
