Hello, I am Karen Richards.

We can’t believe we have been onsite now for almost five years! Time flies when you’re having fun!

I am also the owner of the recently opened Wolds Day Nursery in Plumtree .

Our setting here was deemed Outstanding by OFSTED in June 2011.

(You can read the Inspection report on our ‘News’ page)

I have been a qualified teacher for over 25 years, working specifically within Early Years since 2004.

I have achieved my Early Years Professional status.

I have a certificate in Paediatric First Aid.

I am fortunate to have a wonderful team of staff, who deliver first class care and education to the children attending our settings.

We are very proud of the Outstanding reputation of our Pre-Schools and we work very hard to ensure every child feels safe, secure and happy as they learn and play.

(This goes for parents too!)

Parents tell me they like our welcoming environment and feel confident leaving their children in the care of our highly qualified, experienced and friendly staff.

Hello. I am Susan and I manage the day to day running of Willow Brook Pre-School.

I have been a qualified teacher for over 25 years.

I was also awarded Early Years Professional status in February 2012 after further studies.

I am the Designated Safeguarding person for Preschool.

I am a mum. Being a parent has certainly added a wealth of experience and understanding to the ‘official’ training I have received.

I began working at Burnside Hall Pre-School Nursery in the Summer of 2008, becoming Manager in December 2009 and I moved to Willow Brook when we opened here in September 2010.

I have certificates in ‘Paediatric First Aid’ and ‘Safeguarding Children’.

I love books of all sorts! Picture books, poetry books, information books, pop-up books…and I especially love sharing stories that become all of our favourites…’Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy’, ‘Stick Man’ and ‘Room on The Broom’, ‘Pumpkin Soup’ ,’Elmer’ being just a few examples of stories that we all join in!

I really enjoy being involved with role-play activities and helping the children in exploring new things.

I am the Keyworker for the older children and aim to prepare them with the skills they need to settle quickly and really enjoy ‘big’ school.

The biggest thrill is to see the children developing in so many different ways, growing in confidence and independence but also playing so happily together. Every learning journey is different…

Watching children being so fascinated by all the little things we take for granted makes you look at the world again with fresh eyes- it’s smashing!

Having been part of a team at Burnside deemed successful by Ofsted in July 2010, we were delighted to have repeated this achievement in our new setting, deemed OUTSTANDING in June 2011.

Hello I am Christine.

I am a mum who started working at Burnside Hall Pre-School Nursery in 2002 and obtained my cache level 3 diploma in Pre School practice in 2004.

I am a Keyworker for the younger children.

I have certificates in Paediatric first aid and Safeguarding Children.

I love Craft of any sort and really enjoy getting my hands messy in gloop, cornflour and play dough.. lovely!!

I create different craft activities to help the children learn and discover through play.

I love singing and action songs, I have some great songs that the children love, the favourite being ‘Have you ever gone fishing?’.

I am interested in Makaton and like to teach the children to sign some of our songs and rhymes.

I am also trained in SEN ( special educational needs) and help to provide any additional help or support that you or your child may require.

Sam
